1 （所罗门上殿之歌。）若不是永恒主建造房屋，建造的人就枉然劳碌；若不是永恒主看守城池，看守的人就枉然儆醒。

2 你们早早就起来，晚晚才歇息，吃劝劳得来的饭，尽是枉然；因为（传统：这样）主在所爱的人睡觉时，已赐给他了（或译：主将甜睡赐给他所爱的人）。

3 看哪，儿女是永恒主赐的产业；腹中出的果子是他赏报的。

4 青年时生的儿女、好像勇士手中的箭。

5 箭袋充满了箭的人有福阿！他们在城门口跟仇敌说话时，必不至于羞愧。
